Design Concept
The concept originates from a play of vertical layering and sectional balance. The villa is composed of three volumetric slices with subtle recesses that introduce depth and natural shading. A vertical circulation core organizes the interior while maintaining spatial continuity. The façade integrates exposed concrete, vertical wooden fins, and warm textures—creating a tactile dialogue between raw structure and refined detailing.
This architectural approach achieves both lightness and solidity, reflecting a modern Tripolitan identity that values resilience, beauty, and practicality.
Spatial Organization
The residence is distributed vertically to accommodate social, private, and service areas efficiently:
- Basement: Recreational and service zones, including a gaming area and maid’s room.
- Ground Floor: Dual majlis (men and women), kitchen, and guest amenities.
- First Floor: Family living, dining, and open kitchen with an office and guest suite.
- Second Floor: Private bedrooms, including the master suite and children’s rooms, complemented by a steam room and secondary kitchen.
- Terrace Level: Semi-open family lounge, office, and outdoor terrace with wooden pergolas and planters.
This zoning strategy maximizes comfort and privacy while maintaining a coherent vertical flow.
Materiality & Interior Design
The interiors extend the architectural narrative with Italian marble flooring, neutral wall finishes, and gold detailing. The palette blends modern minimalism with classical luxury, reflecting a timeless aesthetic suitable for the region. Soft indirect lighting enhances vertical perception and creates an inviting atmosphere of serenity and sophistication.
Sustainable Design Elements
- Natural Ventilation: Recessed balconies and operable windows enhance cross-ventilation.
- Thermal Comfort: Deep fins and concrete shading walls reduce solar gain.
- Local Materials: Finishes are sourced to ensure durability in Libya’s coastal conditions.
- Efficient Footprint: Smart vertical zoning ensures spatial richness without excessive land use.
